Terms
Terms of service for the StitchPattern platform
The agreement between MLJ, SASU and the designers and studios who use StitchPattern. In force from September 4, 2026.
1. Acceptance
These terms form the agreement between you and MLJ, SASU, a French simplified joint stock company with share capital of 500.00 euros, registered in Paris, which publishes and operates StitchPattern. You accept them by creating an account, by using the service, or by paying a subscription. If you accept on behalf of a studio or company, you confirm you are authorized to bind it. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the service.
2. What the service does
StitchPattern is a web application for independent sewing and knitting pattern designers. It stores pattern releases and their PDF files, runs structured tester rounds in which invited testers submit notes against a page, a size and a step, records accepted corrections as numbered errata with a change log, publishes new versions of a pattern file, and sends the corrected file and errata to buyers of earlier versions, including buyers imported from connected storefronts or from CSV files. It also stores grading tables and finished measurements and publishes a shareable pattern page listing the current version and its errata. StitchPattern does not sell patterns, does not process payments from your buyers and is not a storefront.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least eighteen years old and acting in a commercial or professional capacity. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, for the security of your credentials, and for everything done under your account, including by team members and technical editors you invite. Tell us promptly at jimenezjulien42@gmail.com if you believe an account has been compromised. We may refuse or close an account that is used to break these terms.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to upload material you do not have the right to distribute, not to use the notification system to send messages unrelated to the patterns your recipients bought, and not to import email addresses you have no lawful basis to contact. You agree not to attempt to access other customers' data, not to probe or overload the infrastructure, not to resell access to the service, and not to use it to distribute malware or unlawful content. Bulk messaging that would breach applicable anti spam law, including the United States CAN SPAM Act, is prohibited, and you remain the sender of record for every notification you trigger.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Three plans are offered. Solo Designer is $19 per month and covers up to 12 live patterns and 10 active testers. Designer Plus is $45 per month and covers up to 60 live patterns, 40 active testers, three shop connections and a technical editor seat. Studio is $95 per month and covers unlimited live patterns and testers, five team seats, wholesale buyer groups and unlimited shop connections. All prices are in United States dollars and exclude any sales tax or value added tax that may apply in your jurisdiction, which is added at billing where required.
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance on the anniversary of the day you subscribed. Buyer notifications are never metered or charged separately, whatever the size of your list. If you exceed a plan limit, we tell you and you may move to a higher plan; we do not disable a live pattern without warning you first. Price changes are announced at least thirty days in advance and never apply to a month already paid for.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel at any time from the billing screen in your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid month, there is no notice period, and there is no exit fee. We do not refund partial months, except where the service was materially unavailable through our fault, in which case we credit the affected period on request. After cancellation your account remains readable for ninety days so you can export your material, and we email you twice before deletion.
7. Your data and content
You own your pattern files, grading tables, tester feedback, errata text and buyer lists. You grant us only the limited licence needed to host, back up, transmit and display that material in order to operate the service for you, including delivering files to the buyers you designate. We do not use your content to market to your buyers, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train models. You can export everything at any time as a zip archive of your original PDFs plus CSV files of buyers, errata and tester notes.
8. Service availability
We aim for monthly availability of 99.9 percent, measured excluding announced maintenance. Maintenance is announced at least forty eight hours ahead and scheduled outside United States business hours where possible. If an incident affects file delivery to your buyers, we write to affected accounts as soon as we understand the scope, and we publish a short written account of what happened afterwards.
9. Warranty disclaimer
The service is provided as it stands. To the fullest extent permitted by law we make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we do not warrant that every notification will reach every recipient, since delivery depends on mail systems outside our control. You are responsible for the correctness of your own patterns, grading and errata text. StitchPattern records and distributes what you write; it does not verify your technical content.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost sales, lost profit, loss of reputation, or the cost of reprinting physical material. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, for gross negligence, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Indemnity
You agree to hold MLJ, SASU harmless from third party claims arising out of material you upload or send through the service, including claims that a pattern infringes someone's rights, and claims arising from messages you sent to a list you had no right to contact.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service or in the law. Material changes are announced by email at least thirty days before they take effect. If you do not accept a change, you may cancel before it applies and export your material.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be settled amicably falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France. Mandatory consumer protections available to you under the law of your place of residence are unaffected.
