Who is responsible
MLJ, SASU, the company that publishes StitchPattern, is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. The publication director is Jimenez Julien, who also handles data requests personally. You can reach him at jimenezjulien42@gmail.com. Company identification details appear on the legal notice page.
What the contact form collects
This marketing site has exactly one place where you can send us information: the walkthrough request form on the home page. When you submit it, the following named fields are transmitted and stored.
- name: your full name, so we can address you properly in the reply.
- email: your work email address, which is where the answer goes.
- company: your pattern label or studio name.
- role: your role in the business, chosen from a list.
- request: whether you want a demo, early access or a quote.
- size: the size of your live pattern catalog, chosen from a range.
- message: the free text you write about the release that gave you trouble.
- consent: the record that you ticked the consent box before sending.
- subject and recipient: two hidden routing values that tell our mail system which site the message came from and where to deliver it.
- bot-field: an empty honeypot field used to discard automated spam. A human visitor never fills it in.
Netlify, our host, also records standard technical information about the submission such as the time it was received and the originating internet address, which is used to block abuse.
Legal basis for processing
We process this information on two bases. Answering the request you deliberately sent is processing necessary for steps taken at your request before entering into a contract. Keeping a short record of business enquiries, and protecting the form against automated abuse, rests on our legitimate interest in running a business and keeping our systems usable. The consent box records your agreement to be contacted about the request you made. You may withdraw that agreement at any time and we will stop writing to you.
How long submissions are kept
Form submissions are kept for twenty four months from the date we receive them, then deleted from the Netlify Forms store and from our mailbox. If your enquiry becomes a customer relationship, the correspondence moves into our normal business records and is kept for the duration of that relationship plus the retention period required by French accounting and tax law. If you ask us to delete an enquiry earlier, we do so within thirty days unless we are legally obliged to keep it.
Who processes the data
Submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States, which hosts this site and operates the Netlify Forms service. Replies are sent from an email account operated by the publisher. We do not use a customer relationship management platform on this marketing site, we do not enrich your details from third party data brokers, and we never sell, rent or trade what you send us.
Cookies, trackers and measurement
This site sets no advertising cookies, no third party analytics cookies and no cross site tracking pixels. There is no Google Analytics tag, no advertising remarketing tag and no social media tracking script on any page. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the request for the font files and the associated internet address as part of serving them. Nothing on the site profiles you, scores you, or follows you to another website.
The StitchPattern application
This policy covers the public marketing site. Data that customers upload into the StitchPattern application, including pattern files, tester feedback and buyer lists, is processed on the customer's behalf under a separate data processing agreement, and the customer remains the controller of that data. We do not use customer buyer lists for our own marketing under any circumstances.
International transfers
MLJ, SASU is established in France and Netlify is established in the United States, so data submitted through this form is transferred to and stored in the United States. Those transfers rely on the European Commission standard contractual clauses incorporated into our agreement with Netlify, together with the technical measures Netlify applies to data in transit and at rest. If you would like a copy of the relevant clauses, ask by email.
Your rights in the United States
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah or Virginia, you have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, to obtain a copy of it, to correct it, and to have it deleted. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing for you to opt out of on that front, but you may still send us an opt out request and we will confirm it. California residents may designate an authorized agent to act for them. Where your state provides an appeal process for a refused request, we will explain that process in our written response.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of what happened before. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in France the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertes.
How to exercise your rights
Send one email to jimenezjulien42@gmail.com describing what you want. Say which right you are exercising and give us enough detail to find your record, normally the email address you used on the form. We answer within thirty days. We may ask one clarifying question to confirm you are the person concerned, and we will not charge you for a reasonable request.
Children
StitchPattern is a business tool for people who sell patterns commercially. The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen years of age. If you believe a child has sent us information through this form, write to us and we will delete it promptly.
Security
The site is served over encrypted connections only. Access to form submissions is limited to the publication director and protected by two factor authentication. We review that access list every quarter and remove anything unnecessary.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the updated version is published here with a new date at the top of the page, and anyone with an open enquiry is told by email. This version is dated September 4, 2026.
